What can I say...I got to marry my best friend in a true fairly wedding in one of the most magical places in the world, Taormina Sicily! Every step of the way was a total dream from our first trip to pick out the location, to my dress fitting in Catania to our welcome party at Castello Xrumi and our Wedding reception at Radicepura! The planning process overseas wasn't exactly a dream lol but we managed to coordinate logistics for our family and friends who traveled from all over the world literally...from NY, FL, St Barths, Paris, Belgium and our family from across the island in Sicly. Aside from an beautiful intimate ceremony, we achieved our goal of creating lifetime memories and strengthening bonds with our closest family and friends. We were so blessed to everyone there and could not have done it without the help of our parents and for that we are forever grateful!
So as tradition has it, we both slept in separate rooms the night before and did not see each other all day until church. I spent the day getting ready with my bridesmaids primping and prepping while the boys enjoyed the day at the beach (lucky). Our ceremony began at 5:30 in a small church from the 1800s called Chiesa del Varo. It was up a tiny alley way, a square brick building but once you opened the doors, it was truly breathtaking. After church, the bridal party walked through the main street in Taormina for some pictures while the guests were bused to the reception at Radice Pura. The reception was outside at a beautiful botanical garden which sits at the bottom of Mt Etna, in fact she lit up and gave us a little show! We had a live band which kept us dancing until 4 am and of course the most delicious and fresh food! Naturally we capped off the night with a little fireworks display which was absolutely breathtaking.
I can't believe it all happened so fast and I would give anything just to relive it all again. I love you Frank
